Patrick McCarthy / Owner / Piercer
Patrick is the owner and founder of Piercology, Inc. He started piercing in 1991 and saw the need for a different type of Body Piercing Studio. A studio for those interested in body modification who wanted a professional atmosphere that specialized in and was dedicated solely to piercing. To this day Piercology is the only Piercing only studio in Columbus. A studio that would be 100% clean, sterile and safe.
He was the first elected president of the APP (Association of Professional Piercers), serving from 1999 to 2002. He also assisted in writing the piercing laws for the state of Ohio and is currently rewriting the laws for the state of Ohio.
After piercing for 20 years many people ask me how I have done it and if you love your job like I love piercing it is easy.  After piercing for so many years it’s been fun piercing children of my once teenage pierces.  Many of them saying “ Pat, you are our family piercer we would have nobody but you pierce our children”  Even though I don’t pierce every day like I did for so many years, you can always make an appointment with me.
I truly believe I have the BEST staff and the best most experienced piercers in Columbus working for me, and I hope you stop in and see why for the last 17 years Piercology has been rated the best.  Don’t believe me?  Just ask a person with a piercing and chances are we pierced them.

Dave Kelso / Piercer
I began my piercing career in 1997, at Piercology. After working the counter for a while learning all I could about jewelry, I became an apprentice under Patrick McCarthy. After becoming a piercer a year later (1998)I became a member of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP). In, 2007 I left Piercology to open my own piercing exclusive shop Modified Sole! A number of years later I closed Modified Sole and worked for a few other studios around Columbus, only to come back to Piercology in 2011.
Over all these years I have maintained my membership for the APP. In 2011 I received the Josh A. Prentice Volunteer Appreciation Award from the APP for all my years volunteering and supporting them.
I just got married to the love of my life last year. I enjoy bike riding & photography, on his days off you can find him driving a Pedicab around Columbus or taking photos at the park.

Mike Chance / Piercer
Piercing has been a passion of mine ever since I received my first one in 1996. I was lucky enough to start my apprenticeship here at Piercology in 2000. Since that time I have been lucky enough to work at some of the best studios across the country. Including Splash of Color in E. Lansing, MI. and 23rd Street Body Piercing in Oklahoma City, OK. Although I’ve enjoyed my travels over the last few years, I find myself back at home here at Piercology. I have stayed current and received all my certifications, such as First Aid, CPR, and Blood borne Pathogen.
Aside from piercing I’m involved in the Body Suspension Community. I’m an active member of I Hung, and have had the pleasure of working with C.O.R.E. and R.O.P.
Piercing is one of my favorite things in the world. I feel very privileged to be able to walk someone thru their piercing experience; rather it’s there first one or their 20th.
